Las Piñas is envisioned to be a
city in the process of change, progressive but remaining a caring,
warm community that is ideal for raising families. The City is a
“Home”, as exemplified by its official logo where a
mother and child live safely inside a dwelling, in the middle of
modern progress, while still maintaining family and neighborly ties.
The municipality of Imus bound Las Piñas
on the northeast of Parañaque; on the southeast of Muntinlupa;
on the south of Imus, Cavite; on the southwest of Bacoor, Cavite;
and on the northwest of the scenic Manila Bay. Half of its land
has already been utilized for commercial, industrial, and institutional
purposes.
It’s predominant language or dialect
spoken is 94.4% in Tagalog, 2% speak in cebuano, and the remaining
3.6% speaks Ilonggo, Bicolano, Waray and Pampangueno.
As students, we consider our school as our
community because it is where we learned to socialize and our lives
are centered in studying.
Teachers, as our second parents, teach us the value of teamwork
and determination, which we need in order to reach our goals. It
is their job to enhance our skills and to help us to overcome our
weaknesses.
BF Resort Village may also be considered as our community because
it is where our alma mater is located. Named after its owner, Banco
Filipino, this place is a vast steppe with tall green grasses and
farm animals before it became a village.
But actually, our community is Las Piñas City where many
of us lives. Las Piñas is one of the twelve cities that compose
the dynamic metropolis of Manila. Found in Southern Manila, it was
established as a city on February 12,1997. It is a 41,500 square
kilometer city with 499,000 people living in 20 barangays.
